Hardware finishes, I learned something today.

I hope my realization will help those of you looking for your pulls, pendants and faucets and obsessing over all the details.

I was so worried about having to match the metals of all of my hardware that it started to take the fun out of looking for me, I truly feld overwhelmed. For example, I knew I wanted coppery colored knobs/pulls yet all the pendants I seemed to like were brushed nikel so I dismissed alot of them.

I decided to take advice of a few people who said "just get what you like and don't worry about matching the finishes". So I learned to relax and not take this all so seriously. The first thing I bought were my pendants, i couldn't use the originals I bought so I went shopping at a local lighting store and found ones that I really loved, better than the first ones. Off to find knobs, got the ones that I loved in a coppery color. Next faucet, bought one in tumbled bronze color that I thought would look cool with my granite.

I was just looking at my kitchen and it hit me! Every one of those pieces mentioned above are all the same color metal, not exact but close enough, by accident, I didn't try to match I just "picked what I liked". I stopped obsessing over it and learned to make it a fun process and it all came together in the end. So I learned that I like copper/bronze colors the best and I learned not to over analyze and second guess every single deciscion I make.

I know the whole deciscion making process is a killer, so if I can give any piece of advice it would be to relax...buy what you like and It will come together in the end!

And a big thank you to my fellow GW's who told me the same. When someone says to you "buy what you like" It's not just a saying, there really is meaning behind those words. It worked for me anyway, I hope it can work for someone else out here!
