Huge Kitchen Sinks

Anyone know of an undermount double bowl sink that has a full size bowl plus a 3/4 bowl? I want to have a deep full size bowl for washing and a deep 3/4 size bowl to hide dishes being drained. Yeah I know I'm crazy for handwashing . . . but I do. I handwash pots and pans, china, tuperware, crystal, etc. Most double bowl sinks are just not big enough. I found one in the UK through Brass and Traditional, but it isn't an undermount. I like it but would prefer not to have a drop in if I can help it. Oh, and I don't want stainless.

What about installing two sinks side by side?

i think i saw a ss one on the blanco website. but it may have had an attached drainboard. they have several lines to choose from. i first considered the 1 3/4 myself, but ended up going with the one large 30" ss sink from ticor at galaxytools.com. gosh, i'm always talking about them. but the price and quality and customer service was that impressive! consider, the blanco single bowl with drainboard is $1200 and the comparable ticor (same gauge steel) is not even $400, with free s+h. they also have rear-draining, which is not shown on their website.

I have heard of people having sinks fabricated to their specs by sheet metal companies (guys who do ductwork, that sort of thing) that were very reasonable...oh, wait, you don't want stainless...maybe look for a salvage sink? those aren't as deep though. maybe the 2 sink option is best for you? or you might have to do stainless. good luck!

What do you consider "full size"? Sinks come in all different sizes. I have a Ticor S405D that I got from Galaxy Tool Supply, online. It has two bowls, one large, the other in-between...

    Overall Dimensions: 35-1/8" x 20-7/8" x 9"
    Large Bowl: 21-3/8" x 18-3/4" x 9"
    Small Bowl: 10-1/2" x 15-7/8" x 7"

I love the dimensions of the Ticor S405D however I do not like SS either. Does anyone know of this Ticor style sink but in white?

This is the sink I am considering . . . would prefer same sink but as an undermount. The main bowl is 20.6 inches and the 3/4 bowl is 12.7 inches.

Judy, couldn't that one be installed as an undermount? Most of the ones with a similar look seem to be able to be installed either way. Here's one with almost the same dimensions...

I do a lot of hand washing, too so wanted a double bowl sink. Hubby insisted that the sinks be of equal size so we wound up with the Blanco Double equal. It works great for what you've described.

yeah, in a perfect world where I had lots more $$$ I probably would have gone with something bigger but our cabinets / kitchen footprint wouldn't allow for that.

Find a Blanco Silgranit sink you like, in the overmount section.

    Install it as an undermount.
    Blanco still warranties it.

Holligator thanks for suggesting that the sink I like from Brass & Traditional might also be installed also as an undermount!! I sent an email to them to see if it is possible.

The AS actually is a bit bigger . . . but . . . I need the smaller bowl on the left. I don't mean to be difficult : )

Thanks for all of the SS suggestions but I just don't like SS.

I looked at all of the Siligranits and I don't see anything as big as what I am looking for. I want at least 20" for the main sink and at least 12" for the smaller.

    How about a Shaw's 4019?

How about a Kohler Clarity. Sink is 33x22x9, left side small sink ~12x16x9, large sink ~ 15x19x9

Egganddart I love that Shaws 4019! But it cannot be flipped. I need the small bowl (for draining dishes) on the left. My DW will have to be to the right of the sink and I need the main sink on that side. I do love the 4019 though.

Marzhere I would like my large bowl to be at least 20".

Thanks everyone for all of the ideas!

I just got this "garden" sink this weekend for my mudroom/beverage center. It's a Kohler Harborview sink and I got it off of Craig's List. It was only $625.00 brand new in the box (as opposed to $1600.- $2000. retail). It's not installed yet. Sitting on the floor it looks like a small tub! The basin is a whopping 42 7/8" x 18 1/2" x 10" deep. As you can see I like big sinks.

Anyone with photos of two separate sinks side by side in one base cabinet?

OOH, Judy, that sink is to die for! I am so loving that and am green with envy!

    Fabulous find!

Thanks Shelayne. It isn't the first one I had my heart set on. But it was my second choice . . . and the savings was too good to pass up!! The person I bought it from gave free delivery and helped my husband carry it in even. It weighs a lot.

My sister-in-law also thinks I should consider just getting two separate sinks for my main kitchen area. I thought if I did this that I'd have to buy two sink base cabinets. But she said that the 39" sink base that I am planning would be fine for two separate bowls. Anyone else with this arrangement? I don't understand how two separate sinks will be undermounted in one cabinet. Grrrrrr

Being that we just modified a base cabinet for our apron front farm sink tonight, I would just build (or have one built, if you're not doing it) a frame for the two sinks, just separated by one support rail. If they have any lip at all, I would just rest them on top of the frame that is flush with the top of the cabinet box--you could just have two support rails running on the top from side to side and position the sinks where you want them between those rails. I imagine whoever does your counters would use some sort of clips to attach the sinks, even if they are not supported in any sort of frame or on any rails.

I have this totally pictured in my head, so I hope that you could make *some* sort of sense out of that. Oy.

shelayne, not to hijack this thread, but could you start a post and tell us about how you did your sink base modification? Pretty please? : )

    Sandy,

Just to let you know, I started a thread with your name in the title, as it is likely to get buried.

Whitehaus has a sink that may match your requirements. The small bowl come either on the left or on the right. Rohl sells something similar under the Shaw name but the small bowl is on the right side if I remember correctly. Not recommending homeclick because I heard they are out of business but they had a good website. Also consider a soapstone sink. Many soapstone manufacturers make these customer specific. If you really want what you want, consider a concrete sink (Sonoma Stone comes to mind) where a custom design can be made for you. I considered getting a 36" single sink made but decided the Rohl Allia was large enough.

    Good luck!
