Help with cabinets.

This is not really a bathroom question but a cabinet one. Two years ago I remodeled my kitchen and ordered my oak Medallion cabinets from Mernards. One of the cabinets my son named the gum drawers as the drawers are so small that they only can hold gum. I was happy with them even with the gum drawers as they were in a place that wasn't that critical. In January I ordered the same cabinets for my bathroom and made a vanity with a sink base, drawer base and two tall cabinet's one on each side similar to the gum cabinet. The tall cabinets are 15 wide 12 deep and 48 tall with two drawers and an upper section with shelves. The drawers have an 8 inch drawer front a 6 3/4 opening and a 3 3/4outside 3 1/4 inside drawer, with 19 3/4 inches of space used before the start of the bottom of the cabinet part that has the shelving. In other words two little drawers in 19 3/4 inches of space. When I ordered them one of my concerns that I would end up with gum drawers again so I ask and knew that there was a 6 3/4 opening I wrongly assumed that it would be filled up with a drawer. This will be in a place that I will use several times a day and I don't know what to do. I have worked with manger at Mernards and can return and reorder for 20% or $250 and get a lift up door garage. He tried to work with Medallion and they won't do any thing because that is the way they make them. I called Medallion directly and was told the same, I ask to talk to a supervisor and was told again because that's the size the interior comes in and the next size wouldn't work it was a little too big. I said you're a wood shop saw it off a little. She would do some checking and get back she hasn't called as of yet. I don't think they really care or that she will call back. This is my home and will live here a long time. Should I spend the money and get it right? I hate it that the Manger is left with the cabinets and not Medallion. Thanks ahead for the help.
