Aqua Pools

We selected Aqua Pools 6 years ago for our Antioch, CA home. We did some reasearch into other pool company's but based much of our decision on pools our friends had installed from other companys. A pool install is an interesting experience to go through regardless of the company you select. I recommend anyone doing it to have someone that has gone through it be with you through the entire experience leading up to contract signing. Overall we are very happy with our pool even though we've had a few issues to deal with that would fall into the category of maintence I suppose. 1. We had to replace the motor/pump for the pool sweep after 4 years. Which was totally my fault. I ran the pool sweep just about every day for 4 years. Bad decision! Run it when you need to only. Now I run it once a week maybe twice if its windy. 2. We made the decision to have a waterfall installed as part of our pool. Best decision we made. But after a years worth of use we started to see white stains sbegin to leach through and form on the outside of each waterfall rock that had water touch it. I'm not sure if its leaching from the cement or from the chemicals in the water. Rather than pay $600-$800 to hire someone to repaint the rocks I found a great paint/sealer and did it myself. 3. Waterfall motor/pump needed to be primed to work in the 5th years of use. I thought my pump was bad bud turned out the seals for all the drains were dried out and cracked. I replaced them and haven't had any issues this year. 4. I'm on my second vacuum - I think I wore the first one out. See #1 above. But to be honest with you the original vacuum equipment installed isn't a high quality vacuum. My replacement works 10 times better than the first. Can't remember the last time I picked up my net to get leaves out of the water. 5. I currently have a couple of tiles that have cracked and I need to replace them. I don't think this is a big deal so I'm looking at it as normal wear/tear. 6. Water treatment - well I could talk for days about this one. My advice is treat your pool yourself for 2-3 years and then hire someone to do your chemicals for you. You'll be happy you did.

Hope this helps.
