Well, it's not a half-moon base. In fact, I can't find any trestle table with a base like that. Very interesting base, though.

Maybe ask at the woodworking forum what that kind of table/base is called.

Following up on olychick's link, I found several pages discussing "settle tables" or "hutch tables" dating from prior to 1900, these were dual-purpose furniture: tilt-top tables that converted into a bench ("settle") and might also include storage.

Lots of antiques, but I prefer the lines of the one in the original image. Found someone on Etsy who will make one, but is across the country; also found an article in Popular Woodworking on how to build, so I think I will try to find someone local.
