One of my favorite colors for a front door is SW Wrought Iron Gate. Its not pure black, its a charcoal gray/black. I dont have my color decks to look at black magic so I am not sure if you are looking for a rich deep black. Typically paint dries to the touch in just a few hours given the right humidity conditions. You might not be able to close the front door that night without it sticking:( The shutters should be fine. A solid stains dries pretty quickly too, especially if its in the sun. However, if there is a sealer in the stain, it could take longer. Was the deck sealed before, even with a Thompsons water seal? If so, and its not worn off, the new sealer/stain will take a few days to dry. Again, that depends on if you previously used a sealer, even if it was a few years ago....thats just our experience when we resealed/stained our deck. The heavy traffic areas dried fine, the protected areas took a week to not be tacky. We learned the hard way that the sealer was still doing its job in those areas. Eventually, it was fine, but it took a while. We were forced to do the whole deck to get a uniform look.
