Slides are dangerous. They are even more so in a smaller pool that has no diving area. Kids go down head first because they are an ignorant and fun loving bunch that don't realize how dangerous that is. Parents don't always watch and kids are fast. You'll see a huge increase in your home owners insurance rate.

A 2HP single speed is both over kill and not energy efficient. May I suggest a Pentair VS-SVRS instead. You won't need a timer or the booster for the Legend. That saves in equipment costs and electrical hookup costs. You can also run the VS-SVRS during the circulation time at a much lower speed and save on energy costs.

Six returns? Halve that and save on the plumbing costs. The water would have a tough time moving much with that many returns. I would suggest using three 1-1/2 lines, each with it's own valve, and a two inch manifold to feed them. Placing one on each end and pointing slightly towards a wall. The 3rd will be at the middle of the wall to be used
    as the pool sweep connection.

The VS-SVRS has 8 speed and a built in timer.

Speed one is morning circulation, say 8:30 am to 9:30 am on a low speed.

Speed two from 9:30 to 10:30 runs faster, enough to drive the pool sweep and gets the skimmers working nicely.

Speed three is another slow cycle till 4:00.

From 4 till 5, another fast speed so the skimmers work again for speed 4.

From 4 to 9, another slow speed till it shuts off for the night.

Speed 6 can be a manually operated high speed for the grotto. Just push the "3" on the pump's control panel twice and open the valve to the grotto.

You will save a lot of on the electric bill. A 2HP pump will suck 2000 watts every hour it's on. A VS-SVRS is unlikely to need more than 800 watts when running n the high speed cycles, The low speed cycles won't need more than 250 watts.

Set the Rainbow up in a top feed configuration. It will ensure you get enough water washing over the tabs at slow speed.

A 48 square foot FNS Plus is still oversized so you still won't need to backwash often, Going to the 60 is wasted money. Skip the Sand filter loaded with Zeo. It gets rock hard after a few years making it difficult to change and making changes potentially damaging to the filter's laterals.

Nature2 packs are expensive. If the pool is used the year around, you'll need 1 every six months.

Since you are using tablets, if you have a N2 cartridge, which is injecting silver into solution, if the pH drops sufficiently, the silver will fall out and create black stains on the plaster.

Low chlorine is not good. Ever.

If you are concerned about red eyes or drying of the skin, put a salt cell on. The slat in the water will help the eye maintain their salinity, and your skin doesn't dry out.

I'd like to suggest a pair of Intelibrites. They only us 75 watts of power.

    See what the builder says.

Scott, thanks for the advice I will get with the PB and see what his thoughts are. Strange is 4 builders all had 6 returns 1 had 5.? I will check out the VS-SVRS. Wasnt sure what you were referring to with the 48sqft FNS plus..Im a newbie here. Were you saying the Nature 2 was a good thing or skip it all together? Intellibrites Iwill check out. Thanks again, anyone else care to share their thought and or experiences is greatly appreciated.
Yes the Slide is not my idea but according to the rest of the family it is a must! My insurance will not change due to the slide. I have an umbrella policy and I have already made that call to Travelers. I still dont want anyone hurt just want them to have fun.

A 48 square foot FNS+ is a Pentair DE filter.

    No, I don't like Nature2 mineralizers.

Its difficult to find a salesman with your interests over his own.

Cant figure out how to post pics, however we are getting close. Funny thing happened today. One of the PB called me today. I told them two of my neighbors were having pools put in by his company and I was watching how the build was progressing and told them I watched them jack hammer up all the decking. Told him I would call him down the road. He told me hurry its winter pricing and summer starts in January. LOL I reminded him that HE told me that there was no such thing as WINTER prices with his company and then asked him if there was only one pool left on the lot in my color. I'll go elsewhere have a nice day! My money Ill spend it when and where I want.

Not a very smart Salesperson. I would latch on the concept of selling byou a pool with Winter Pricing.
