Opinion please........pics

I absolutley loved Jan in Wisconsin's iron art that she put behind her stove. I have been toying with the idea of something behind my sink on my beverage bar. I found this decorative piece (very inexpensive) and was wondering if it would work. It is actually a sunflower and has a bronze tone, it is not black. My thought is that it might be too small, so let me know what you think and if you have other ideas. Of course I would raise it and center it, it is just propped up on the faucet now.

Can you get a second one like it and hang them side by side? The one alone is too small, and even once hung will focus the attention on the faucet and make the area feel smaller.

Honestly, tho, this is the place I would like to see a mirror - something that fills almost the entire space, with a simple dark frame to pull the dark of the counter and faucet up onto the wall.

And I hope you won't mind another thought, but I would find a different spot for the rooster - it just feels odd there by the beverage bar.

I also think it is just too busy.

I really don't think you need anything in that spot, blank space is good !!!!!!!!

It looks much too small for the space above the sink. I think the area looks best as it is, having the wine glasses and the taller faucet is enough. I am not sure how big your beverage bar extends. Perhaps you can hang the iron between the cabinet and counter a little further away?

I second the mirror idea and please package the rooster carefully when you send it to me! :)
    Love the whole space.

Oh, I looooove your backsplash! It's really beautiful! I would just leave it alone too---it's very classy.

I agree w/leaving this space blank. The backsplash is stunning, and doesn't need any more dressing up, IMO.

I like the way it looks against the backsplash. But I do think it needs to be bigger.

I think you already have a lot going on in this space, with the stuff on the counters and the wine glasses overhead. I've leave the backsplash "naked."

Thanks so much for all the quick responses. I do agree that the decorative piece is too small for that space. I am now leaning towards leaving the space as is.
les917....DH bought the rooster, I'm sorta stuck with him and don't want him on my working counter. LOL I guess I'm not crazy about the mirror idea, because it would cover too much of the backsplash, and I really don't want to cover it up. (DH wanted to put "rooster" tiles behind the sink, but I just kept ignoring him on that one!)

Anyway I had cleaned a little of the clutter off since I took those first pictures and now I cleaned it off some more.
    Better???

Looks great. That's exactly what I was getting to write -- too many little things, cluster the rooster more with the basket etc., and move everything away from the sink to open it up. You might even try shifting things on the ends down a bit more, but it really does look great : )

Gorgeous backsplash! What stone is it?

I like the Rooster even before you said DH bought it - definitely goes with your hanging plates. Very nice beverage area.

    I like it without anything.

Why doesn't the rooster go with the beverage center? I'm thinking morning coffee and rooster sort of works ;)

I would leave it just the way it is in your most recent picture. It looks great! Enjoy!

Beautiful space! I think the wall art is great, but it is a little small, so if you want, two would probably look better, as already mentioned.

I'm chuckling about your rooster, as my kitchen has become a sort of roosting spot as well. I bought one (count it - just one) rooster for above my cabinets, and all of a sudden, everyone started giving me more roosters! I have quite a few now, and I actually had to tell my family that I'm pleased with the size of my fowl family and do not wish to expand any more at this time - LOL. They're charming, though. I love roosters, as long as they don't crow in the morning.

Your backsplash is great. I would love to know what you did with your outlet covers. I need that for mine! Thanks for sharing,

Thank you for all the positive comments.

Squirrelheaven...........My backsplash is Redding Brick by Rush River and I got it at The Tile Shop

Jan...........My switchplates are also from The Tile Shop. I really like them, they are a bit spendy, but I think they are worth it. Not sure where in WI you are, I am in MN and bought them at the Burnsville store.

I love your kitchen...could you show us more pictures of it??

Your bar space looks really good! I have that same ORB faucet in my bathroom. It looks and works great. Your tile and cabinets all look beautiful. No need for ironwork in that part of the kitchen!
