pool depth for jumping rocks?

Hello,

I am new to the forum but have been reading it for a few months. We are in the process of designing and getting estimates for a pool build in the Central Coast, CA area. Also considering OB, but that's an entirely different question. I have been looking at the Rico Rock loveseat grotto and am wondering how wide and deep the pool would need to be to jump off of it. The grotto is about 3 feet high. We are considering a 40x20 rectangle pool with auto cover at the deep end. The love seat would be on the side of the deepend and the grotto/waterfall/jumprock would go over that. I want to have enough room at the shallow end for a play pool and baja shelf. I was thinking about a 10x10 baja/steps in the corner with an additional 10 ft of 3'6" depth and that would leave 20 ft for a deep end. Any insite, tips would be much appreciated. Sorry if this is too confusing.

Thanks, Cruisegal
