removable accent backsplash

Does anyone have an accent backsplash that can be removed and replaced without construction? I really want to try to do something like this. I have thought of a couple of options. Have GC/cab guy put in a well anchored board with a couple of hooks on top and bottom so I can simply (ok so I know nothing is 'simply') hang a new backsplash from the hooks - similar to how a piece of stain glass is showcased. Another thought - build a frame that I can take in and out of the backspash and change out the picture (i.e accent backsplash) in the frame. Have no idea how this would work but so far my GC has figured out my other 'different' ideas.

If you haven't done this but have ideas I would love to hear them.

thanks

(accent backsplash area is over a 36 inch cooktop with hood 30 inches from countertop).

ItÂs my plan to have a removable backsplash behind range mostly due to the fact that I get sick of things and want the option of changing things out in one area. Until last night I was not exactly sure what I was going to do though but then quincedently my good friend opened one of her birthday gifts which was a beautiful colorful molten glass picture frame that was made by a local artist. So, IÂm thinking of hanging a nice glass frame behind the range with artwork in it covered by glass. This way it can blend with whatever my decorative color choices are for the rest of the open plan house and if I change accent colors I can change it there too.

I'm running out the door but here is a quick link to Ikea's wall panels. I don't know much about them but they are removable.

    Thanks for the great ideas.
jterrilyn - how are you going to hang your artwork - hooks from the cab or directly into the wall?
cleo_2007 thanks for the Ikea idea - my kids would love to do our entire house in Ikea but I really only want to be able to switch out the accent backsplash. I love becktheeng's ocean inspired kitchen backsplash - it makes me happy. I would love to have a few of these (including a holiday) that I could switch out through the year. I think making the splashes is something we could do as a family.

Hopefully a few others will chime in with great ideas.

    thanks again

Broan Nutone makes a removable decorative backsplash.

I wonder if you could buy one you liked but then use the backing to change it later.

jterrilynn - you gonna post a pic of that frame? gotta have pics!

I'm going to do something changeable also. my first will be a southwestern metal sculpture. it's rather flat. it might stay forever, i just don't know yet... if I can find something else I like and can figure out how to hang it, I'll change it out.

Hey all, I'm still waiting for the artist name/website that makes the glass frames. When I get it I will post it here. I guess she does custom work as well if you send her samples or if you live in Florida she comes to the house.

Get the mounts for stereo speaker panels

Embed the hole part in the wall and mount the jack on the panel.
