Aqua Pod?

Thinking of getting the Aqua Pod remote control for our Goldline (Hayward)Aqualogic PS-8. Anyone out there using it? Worth the extra money? ($349 online) We'll also have a wireless base unit for inside the house, and of course will be able to control everything from the outside panel on the side of the house, but am considering the Aqua Pod to have total control while in the pool or spa.

Is it far better than the round floating spa remote?

Thanks!!

    Hi Jim,

I had an AquaPod on my first pool. I thought it was great at the time. Then I moved and my new home/pool had an EasyTouch system on it with wireless remote. I like the EasyTouch remote better because it was lag free. The AquaPod had a lot of delay so it made it difficult to navigate quickly. If I started pressing buttons too quickly, it would queue them up - it made it difficult and cumbersome to navigate through the menus because the menu was always a couple of screens behind my button presses. The EasyTouch system does not have this problem. Maybe the AquaPod has been fixed by now. Does anyone else notice this behavior? I would recommend finding an existing install to test it out first to see if you can live with it. I like the EasyTouch remote because it integrates with Pentair's IntelliFlo 4 speed pump so I have fully control over the speeds in my spa and waterfall.

Thanks Landa_mac....I already have the Goldine Aqualogic panel, so EasyTouch is not an option for me. I would be interested to hear more about the delay that you mentioned in the Aqua Pod. Maybe someone else can comment on that? (My PB never mentioned the IntelliFlo....he just recommended the Goldline system, and I really didn't know there was much of a difference.)

    Thanks again.

Hello Jim, I recently purchased the AquaPod with the compatible AquaLogic PS/4 Logic. And yes the response lag does indeed exist. Since it's my first pool and first pool remote I guess it does not bother me. Land_mac is right about not being able to navigate quickly. Again, I guess you get use to it. I have. The cost is a bit high for a remote control but I do like the information it provides on the screen and its features. My 5 year old son loves to turn on the cleaner and the waterfall. My pool does not have a Spa but if it did I would consider the AquaPod for sure. When you consider what it cost to buy a pool these days. What's an extra 350.00 in the grand scheme of things.

anyone ever had a problem with one of these changing it's soft keys on it's own? twice now i've come home and most of the keys are just randomly different. filter switches to "bug light", etc... pretty annoying.
