trash can storage?

Does anyone else not have room in their kitchen for a trash/recycling pullout? I'm interested to see other options for your trash cans. ie, under the sink pullouts???

I placed my trash can in the pantry. My kitchen is a galley. When I am doing major cooking, I simply pull it out and place it by me.

I thought about placing a can under the sink but decided against it since I wanted the space to use for some cleaning things.

Ours is in full view. It's a very convenient location:

I put mine in a roll out drawer I bought at Lowes. I also bought the door mount kit and modified it to work on the roll out. I just set the can in the drawer.

We have a garbage bag holder from Lee Valley attached to the sink door. (It's actually made by Sun Beam- so probably available from other sources too. My DH had to add the metal strips, as our center panel is too thin to screw it onto. It's great, lid opens automatically as you open door fully, and it can accommodate a variety of bag sizes- you can reuse grocery bags!

We didn't have room too, but I eventually decided a pull-out garbage was high priority for us and went for a tall 12"-wide unit someone described on this forum, then scrambled to find a way to fit at least most of the rest we needed on that run in somehow. I mention that just in case a thoughtful scrutiny of priorities hasn't already been done; ours came late.

Sting's roll-out drawer looks really good, though, and we might well have gone for it instead. (As it is, we still need to retrofit a really good place for pet food, and that would work very nicely.)

We have a similar setup to Raehelen now but my dh isn't so sure he want's to screw anything into the new cabinets. I was thinking of something like stings or a wire slide out tray I could fit a small trash can.

I opted not to have a dedicated pull out for the trash because I have always kept it under the sink, after the reno, and my new deep sink, my present trash can didn't fit in it's usual spot, under the sink. I modified a pullout trash rack, (the drawer would have been too high) which I really like, and the can that came with it is almost the same size as our old one. I think I might try the door modification to pull it out automatically...really like that look and will save me a step.
