Need Help asap!

My painter is going to be painting tomorrow. I need to pick a color. I have tried so many!! It will be throughout my entire bottom floor which is all open to everything. I will have cream cabs and espresso shades. I have dark wood floors and TONS of light. I cannot decide if I should go lighter or darker to warm it up. So difficult to decide. It is a bit of a cottagy look.

Any ideas? I think what is making it so hard is that it is so light in there. My furniture is also dark. Have yet to buy rugs. I will base that on the rest of the vibe. My counters will be granite which have both light and darker browns in them.

HELP!

Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure I can offer guidance because color is so very personal. I tend to use very neutral colors except for specific accent walls.

Our home has lots of windows and therefore is pretty bright. Our Living and Dining Rooms are SW Kilim Beige and the Entry uses SW Latte for accent on one large wall. You can see photos and compare with your furnishings by following the link from "My Page".

Latte might be a bit dark for an entire home but is a popular color. Hope this helps.

What if you use a neutral wheat color that will bring the color of sunshine but has some of the browns of your shades into your space. It is somewhat the mean of your color palette. It will tone down your "lots of light" and spark up your "dark furniture." You might need to make it a mix-it-yourself color with some what and cream together, to bring it more neutral but still to give warmth to the glowing lots of light room and sparkle it up for dark furniture.

Is it possible to postpone the painting for another week or so? It took me weeks to pick out just one paint color, and then I needed help on the others.

I don't think a day to make a choice is going to help because you really need some type of paint samples to paint on your walls, or large sample sheets of the paint to hold against each wall to see how it looks in different light, especially at night when some paints take on a whole new color. Also, that's a large area you're painting instead of a small room which is easily fixable.

Benjamin Moore's Dry Sage looks wonderful with dark furniture. It melds from sage green to almost blue to almost grey. And when done in an eggshell or matte finish, I think it's lovely. Or if you are in a warm soft yellow golden vibe, SW can make up Tobacco Road for you. Perhaps you've already tried it? Or use a beautiful vanilla color and work from there........

SW Nomadic Desert is a medium taupey color. It would great with the cream cabinets and espresso colors.

Do you have white trim? I love it with white trim, but it also looks nice with stained.
