You're going to have an awful lot of white. It will certainly look clean and highlight your lovely blue. Have you considered some of the beautiful laminates that have blue flecks in it? Give you a little break in your white?

Just curious. You going to keep your florescent ceiling light or do something coordinating with your pendants?

Hmmmm pendants with some cute, blue shade w/ chrome accents or something?

If you're painting, I am here to tell you you really should look at the Cabinet Coat. BM recommended an oil based primer for wood, & that. On the melamine I'm painting, STIX bonding primer. A little anding and that oil-based primer is like silk. The Cabinet Coat is going on like a dream and is drying as hard as advertized. It kind of flows into the grain and is beautiful.

Just another thought. I'm so happy with my paint! [LOL]

Thanks for your helpful thoughts, Christine. The kitchen faces east with many trees in the yard so it's only sunny in early morning, so maybe lots of white would be okay? Another thought I had is this: someday, I'll change the blue color to a bright yellow, since I love yellow and white.

We are keeping the fluorescent light. Thanks for your advice for the pendants - blue and silver sound good.

I'm grateful for your paint advice for the cabinets - that's just what I needed to hear.

Just painted my cabinets off white, same color on trim for windows and doors, but have carrara counters and cararra and tan/beige mosaic marble tiles for back splash. You will have a lot of white going on there and may need some contrast.

I don't know how well yellow walls will read with the gray floor. You may want to consider a deeper warmer color to offset the coolness of the white and gray and to accent the shape of your cabinets. I would also suggest painting the crown molding on the walls without cabinets the same color as the ceiling instead of the cabinets. But then again if you're painting the cabinets white, that won't be an issue.
Have you considered black counter tops?
