Favorite sheets?

I'm in search of white sheets...

Not sateen...probably percale. I've looked at Thomas lee, garnet hill, cuddledown and llbean. Any favorites?

I ordered a set from garnet hill and didn't love them so returned...they were also made in china which I'm trying to avoid...

I'd love a deal but understand you mostly get what u pay for! im loving cuddledown at the moment..but they r pretty expensive of course;)

Thank you for your suggestions!

The Company Store has nice percale sheets. I've also found some new in package, but not current styles of Sferra woven in Italy on eBay at a decent discount.

I buy mine at Tuesday Morning, for a fraction of the retail cost. 1000 thread count, crisp 100% cotton.

I can't remember the brand, and am now traveling, but will check next week if you're interested. I just saw some the other day so it's a brand they get here pretty regularly.

I don't care for the super soft, silky cotton sheets that are now in vogue. Pottery Barn is my favorite source for cotton sheets that have a nice crisp hand. I'm so picky about bedding, I've gone to pure linen, which is an expensive indulgence, but I get into bed and say "Ahhhh.

I am currently without a favorite. I used to buy mine from JCP and it appears they've discontinued them. I don't know what kind they were other than 60/40 blend. They are soft, non wrinkly and cool. The soft may have come from a gazillions washes but the coolness factor is a must. I bought some recently from BB&B only to find they weren't cool and they wrinkled horribly. I see now why people iron sheets. To the guest room they went.

Hopefully someone else has my affliction of coolness in sheets and can point me in a direction!

I thought we just had a thread on this...turns out it was a year ago. Time flies!

I used to have some cotton/poly Springmaid or Wamsutta sheets in 350tc that were pretty good, as well as the DreamFit sheets which DH had when we got married a couple years ago.

    Thanks all...

It's nearly impossible to find a USA made sheet at a decent price. I too have a pair of wamsutta sheets...a wedding gift in 1999... Made in the USA and oh so comfortable. How times have changed in just 13 years!

I will check out some of the products you've mentioned...keep the ideas coming!

No no there's been more recent threads, they're just not coming up. I love my PB sheets, they are crisp and cool 100% old fashioned cotton. The fit thick mattresses and everything. A little pricey but worth every cent.

Lukkiirish...which ones do you have? I checked out 'the morgan sheeting awhile back...I think their basic percale line? Fill me in...have a PB coupon so may give them a try....;)

I got mine at the Outlet but they have them in the stores too, it's the classic line. 95% Egyptian Cotton/5% organic. Wow, they've really gone up in price at the stores. I paid around 100.00 for a queen set a couple of years ago and last time I looked they were 119.00/set. So if you can get them at the outlet its a lot cheaper. They honor the coupons too. Even if you can't, IMO, it's still worth it. Ours haven't faded or shrunk and will last for many years to come; in the long run you do get your moneys worth.

Peacock Alley is my current favorite but their sheets and blanket covers have been in my top three for 20 years. The twill sheets are a good weight and iron beautifully.

My favorite sheets are actually a fine microfiber from the Comphy Co. When we stayed at the Stowe mountain lodge last winter that is what they used. So Soft and cool.

Wamsutta Perfect Pinpoint available at BB&B.

I just bought sheets as my sheets (even new ones) were not totally covering my mattress. I had to get ones that went up to 20 inch mattress. I got them at JCP it's the only ones they have that are that deep. THey are soft and cool, no iron, fit my bed perfect, but I can't say that they are "crisp". I actually like them alot. I think for my queen they were $60.00 which was very reasonable.

A vote for Thomas Lee. I've got several sets including one set that has been heavily used for 4 years (washed weekly) and still looks like new.

They get softer with age too and aren't crisp/stiff.

I'll never get any other brand. The only drawback is that the bottom sheets are sized for the newer tick mattresses and they are very generous so if you've got an older mattress that isn't ber thick (I've got one of those still) then the fitted sheet will be a little loose.

Check these out. I've never heard of this company..I went to their site...off the beaten path, looks interesting. Im not sure ordering them from amazon is trustworthy...I've never had a problem, though, just heard of stories from folks getting knock off products? http://www.amazon.com/Organic-Cotton-Percale-Fitted-Sheets/dp/B0074CTAJ4
Check out the brand's site too...

Haha...can u tell I'm indecisive on the subject of sheets?!

Gbsim...I ordered their swatches last week and they do feel great! Do you find they sleep 'cool'? My order total for a king size would be around $200. Yikes...but..if they r awesome...it's worth it.

funny this tread has popped up now! I recently started sheet hunting for the perfect sheets. I'm sooooo hot at night recently, and if my feet are dry just a tiny bit.. I hate how they snag on the soft sheets. Through my research it seems that the lower the thread count, the cooler you'll be sleeping. I also like sheets crisp, like the ones I grew up sleeping in! With the information in hand, I knew I was going to look for 100% Cotton, Percale sheets with a thread count between 225-300. Lots of people suggested The company Store, Thomas Lee, and a few other ones, but they also mentioned Target's White Shabby Chic sheets. Since Target is so nearby, I bought a set, and I'm loving them. They are not super soft at all, so if soft is what you like, these are not, they are crisp, and cool, and my feet never drag on the sheets even if dry (which I love!) . I may try Thomas Lee, I've heard good reviews on them!

I was sold on jersey sheets the moment I tried them. I used to use percale in summer and flannel in winter, but these replace both: they are cool in summer and warm in winter and feel like slipping into a comfortable T-shirt. Unfortunately they don't last long so I replace them every two or three years, typically with the Target brand on sale.

Yes, the Thomas Lee sleep cool and they just keep feeling better with age. The pillow cases are wonderful!
I'm a cheapskate at heart and it pained me to buy such expensive sheets but I decided to give it a whirl. After the first use loved them so much that we never wanted to swap out for our other sheets, thus that set of sheets was washed weekly for 3.5 years and put right back on the bed that evening. They have held up perfectly. I doubt that if I had subjected cheap sheets to that same treatment that they'd be in one piece!
If you're looking for no iron then these aren't for you, as they do look a little wrinkly. I've found that the older they get, the smoother they get though and the wrinkles don't bother me.
I honestly won't ever bother getting other brands of sheets again.

I checked out the Thomas Lee and love that they're made from US-grown cotton, but don't love the thought of wrinkled sheets. I'll iron pillowcases, but not sheets.

I love a crisp white sheet and have a great set from Pottery Barn I love. Have had the current set for several years that get washed every week and are still crisp.
I did buy a nice set for the lake at Target that's amazingly good for the price. The queen size set was around $40-50 as I recall about 4 years ago. I prefer percale, around 300 count for the crisp feel. Wamsutta is usually a good brand too.

Outsideplaying...thanks for your input! What 'brand' are your target sheets?
