interesting kitchen storage

I love this house, and initially I thought the kitchen was little boring. But I think they didn't shoot it too well, because there is more to it that meets the eye in the first photo of it.

For example, I love photo 11. Interesting storage with the french doors, too!

Are those stacked DWs in photo 11, or mini-fridges, or one of each? If DWs, a person would need to be tall to access the top one--maybe they're 'his' and 'hers'? ;)

It's a gorgeous house--I was thinking Martha Stewart with every new pic.

Quirky and interesting, in both structure and contents.

mtnrdredux, I'm interested in why you thought the kitchen was boring, if you care to share? Since you have what I think of as a rustic and je ne sais quoi but cool style kitchen, don't the copper counters, beams, stone floors, partial brick BS, big honking soapstone sink, and wee soapstone prep sink make it rustic and therefore attractive to you? I admit that the big honking range has nothing on your bigger honking range set against your stone fireplace, but then few ranges would :) . I ask because I really like how you went about your kitchen and, lacking sense of style myself to apply to my rustic something house, I look for inspiration from style mavens like you.

I like the juxtapostion of the rustic and the contemporary in this kitchen and how the kitchen flows into the rest of the downstairs. And I adore the staircase mural (seen in the MLS pics in the link below; sorry I couldn't figure how to post).

mamagoose, there's a DW in the main kitchen so maybe your second thought of min-fridges/freezers is right. I don't see a fridge in the main kitchen.

    Thanks for posting this, mtnrdredux!

It looks a lot like the rambling old farmhouse we had to leave, then I saw the skylights, the contemporary fireplace, and I cringed.
Back in the day, before internet, and all we had was "Old House Journal", that would be called remuddling, not restoring.
I think the kitchen has some cool elements, but that style of house, the track lighting and floor would have to go!

If you Google "delaware river flooding near Stockton" I think you will see that selling this home could be a real problem. I rode my bike all along the Delaware Gap last year and everyone talked about the river and the floods.

Too bad as it is certainly a charming property. c
