How about a bottle of strawberry-kiwi punch and an equal amount of Sprite?
Serve in a punch bowl over ice.
Or were you thinking an alcoholic punch?

No, no alcohol. This little momma likes to drink and I wouldn't want to tempt her. She's been good for 6 months. Although, I read champagne is okay for pregnant women. Has anyone else heard that?

Champagne contains alcohol, as much as any wine and more than some.....not OK for preggers gals.

We make this punch every year at Christmas. Please note "variations" at the bottom of the recipe.

    Cranberry Punch

    2 cups cranberry cocktail
    1 cup pineapple juice
    2 cups ginger ale

Combine first 2 ingredients and chill. Do not add ginger ale until ready to serve punch so that it doesnÂt go flat.

Add frozen raspberries to the punch as a garnish and/or make ice cubes out of cranberry cocktail and pineapple juice (red and yellow cubes) so that it doesnÂt water down the punch and keeps it chilled. Or put some of the punch mixture (without the ginger ale) into a bundt cake pan and freeze. When frozen solid, dip pan in hot water to loosen then put the big cube into the punch bowl. It keeps the punch chilled for quite some time.

Variation: Add 2 cups orange juice, or red wine to taste.

My kids, in their early and late 20's, still say this is the best punch they have every had. Now that they both live on their own, they make this punch for every party they host.

    MARDI GRAS PUNCH
makes about 14 servings, 8 oz each.

    INGREDIENTS

1 can (6 ounces) frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
1 can (6 ounces) frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
    1 quart apple juice, chilled
    2 quarts ginerale, chilled.
raspberry, orange, lime, and lemon sherbet.

In large punch bowl, stir together concentrates and apple juice. Stir in ginger ale; scopp sherbet into balls and spoon into punch. You can also float ice cubes in the punch as well to keep it cold.

My daugther likes to freeze fresh berries in ice cubes to float in the punch as well. She uses blueberries, strawberries and grapes. Just drops a piece of strawberries, a couple of blueberries or a grape into the ice cube tray, adds the water and freezes the trays of ice. looks really pretty in the punch, especially with the sherbet floating on top.

As the sherbet slowly melts, it leaves a froth on the top of the punch that makes it taste even better.

This is still my all time favorite-it's refreshing, simple, not sicky sweet and the ladies love it.

    Make a 4qt punchbowl full

1/2 gallon orange or lime sherbert
    3 qts ginger ale

Make just before serving time. Leave half of the 1/2 gallon of sherbert at room temp until softened, but not melted! Place in the bowl & slowly add the ginger ale-using a whisk. A bowl of each flavor would be nice.

Had this at several baby showers. Really good!

    Chocolate punch
    Yield: 12 servings
    4 1-Oz Sq Semisweet Chocolate
    ½ cup Sugar
    2 cup Hot Water
    2 quart Milk
    1 ½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
    1 quart Vanilla Ice Cream
    1 quart Club Soda
    ½ pint Heavy Cream, whipped
    Ground Cinnamon

In a large saucepan combine the chocolate and sugar with the hot water. Bring to a boil, stirring for 2 mins. Add milk, and continue heating. When hot, beat in vanilla with a rotary egg beater or whisk. Remove from heat. Chill, then pour into a punch bowl over ice cream. For sparkle, add club soda. Top with whipped cream and dust with cinnamon. Yield: 12 servings

This is not a punch recipe, but it is well received at showers and especially if the weather is somewhat chilly:

    Almond Tea

    2 qts. water
    2 family-size tea bags (I use decaff)
    1/3 c. fresh lemon juice
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 t. pure almond extract
    1/2 t. vanilla (I use Mexican vanilla)

Bring water to boil and add tea bags. Let steep 3 minutes. Remove tea bags and add sugar. Stir until sugar dissolved and add juice, almond extract and vanilla.

Can be made a day ahead and reheated.
