Small changes, big impact!

Although I mean that in a sense other than how it's usually used here!

I have a wonderful fellow who is drywalling my house when he has free time. He's letting me pay when I can, because he sees the need for walls, etc. He says I can't do anything, anyway, until the darned walls are done !

He's had to rebuild more than a few things because of shoddy DH work, but just plugs along.

He has patched 9 holes in the MBR ceiling, several in the walls, and is at this very minute rebuilding a window wall and the wall where the support beam comes into the adjacent wall. I have to take some pics, don't I?

Anyway, when I moved all the crap and plastic storage boxes out of the MBR so he could work, the room looked bigger. Duh. After he got the drywall up and the ceiling holes plugged, all the sudden I had this HUGE room! The eye doesn't dart to the ceiling anymore. It looks so big the king bed looks a little small. 18 x 16' 10" is big, sure, but with all the construction and storage? It was a depressing cave.

I forgot I lived in this room for 4 years with 7 cats, 4 dogs, the litter boxes and no heat. Hmmm... Maybe that's depressing. Can't say now.

But just those darned holes being gone is an amazing effect! Such a little thing making such a huge impact. I know others take a smooth ceiling (or having a ceiling) for granted, but I don't. I am thrilled. Soon, I can sand and then .... [drum roll] paint. I keep going in there just to stare.

Yeah!
