    Do you think this colour is to dark for my kitchen?

    @Joaquin...yes it is too dark

    I disagree - the light and airiness provided by the quantity of windows balances the wall color during the daytime, and provides a surprisingly warm and intimate backdrop for night time. Plus, the lower half of the walls break up the dark wall color, yet the dark floors anchor it all. This room is stunning, in my professional and personal opinion. Well done.

    @muddyrunnergirl.... my comment is not referencing Oakley Home Builders photo, which I agree is stunning, but rather Joaquins photo above under her comment.

    @Bonnie - my apologies - the photo previews of the kitchen didn't apear at all when I was originally browsing the thread. I agree... the walls are very dark for such a white floor - the contrast is jarring... maybe if they painted the ceiling a warm vanilla and ditch the white vinyl floor and go with a warmer honey colored vinyl strip "plank" look flooring, it could really warm that all up -- just my 2 cents :-)

    @joaquin7 - :-) I like dark walls in a kitchen - with 3 teenagers, it keeps it the walls from looking so grimy so quickly! :-) Dark colors can be lovely in a kitchen - the key is to keeping your "hearth" warm and inviting looking -- perhaps investigate a painting makeover for the cabinets - much cheaper than replacing them.

    You seem to be working with a large room, so I might try one "feature" wall in a dark color - dark tobacco brown or terra cotta maybe -- then the other walls in a tan or lighter peachy shade about 3 shades lighter than the dark wall. If it's in your budget, a strip vinyl wood-plank look flooring to replace the vinyl would warm up the space and be a little more "foot traffic" forgiving .... Benjamin Moore's website has free software that you can download and virtually "paint" a digital photo of your room that you load into it, or just play around with their sample room photos to explore color combos.... Good luck!
