Silestone Stellar Night Countertop
Comments (14)Hello, I know this is an old thread. Just found it. I am considering getting Quartz Stellar Night countertops to go with my new white kitchen cabinets. Wanted to know for those that have it how it has held up? Anyone have any issues with water spots or chipping. Have read that it can chip if something hits it the wrong way. I really like the white and black kitchen idea just debating between the quartz and granite. I was all for the quartz until I started reading so many comments about chipping. Thank you for any feedback....See MoreSilestone White Arabesque experience?
Comments (48)Hi: Just an update -- I ended up using Eternal Statuario from Silestone and absolutely love it. It's cool with bluish gray tones - very subtle veins. It's looks pretty much white from a distance. I can't really say how it would look with cedar but it looks great (I think) with my white cabinets and white appliances. I've had it about a year and no stains -- and I have not been gentle....See MoreVicostone Carrara vs silestone Ariel
Comments (5)The two samples on the right are vicostone Carrara, and the left is the silestone Ariel. They are both up against the chantilly lace which will be my cabinet paint. I need my decision today!...See MoreSilestone suede yay or nay
Comments (5)I have a 4”x8” sample of Silestone Eternal Pearl Jasmine in the Suede finish. I have tested it by letting red wine, olive oil, mustard, honey and soy sauce sit for an hour on it. Everything was completely removed with a damp paper towel. I even checked under a very strong LED light. I have read quite a lot on this issue from a variety of sources. I think that the problems with staining, marred or hazy finish etc that occur some time after installation are primarily due to exposure from a harsh cleaning product (with bleach or vinegar, for example) or heat. For example, in one case the homeowner figured out that her house cleaner had used Easy Off oven spray in her oven and the overspray had damaged the adjoining countertop. Some people have the mistaken idea that quartz is heatproof when it is not. I think the Suede/honed type finish might be more susceptible to damage from these types of mistakes or inadvertent misuse. A polished finish may be somewhat more foolproof but that doesn’t mean that the Suede finish is inherently flawed. I think it’s beautiful and plan to use it in my empty nester home....See Moreamandafeldsher
