Some updated pics- I got valances hung and hung two pics over the bed (well frames- I need to decide what to put inside?) botanicals or ocean pics...something with blues....

Got a new lamp- love the shade- donâÂÂt love the base for this space-- any other ideas on lamp base?

Ok now look at the other blank walls and foot of bed- any thoughts? I was thinking about a TALL big mirror for the wall where you see a black frame on the floor....

Replacing the big mirror over the dresser- just havenâÂÂt found anything-

Any thoughts PLEASE let me know!!

    Very peaceful and elegant! :)

Did you do the finish on your dresser and end tables? I really like it.
    C.

Thank you C. If you have any suggestions on how to finish the room Ill take them!! I def would like a Full Legnth mirror- I can never see my shoes LOL

No this bedroom set is like 15 years old- its white washed - I honestly was thinking of selling it but DH didnt want to b/c it cost a lot soooo I painted the room and started playing with bedding, windows etc- trying to bring it up to date. Hence why i want to change out the mirror!!

Since you already have a mirror on the wall, would you consider a cheval mirror?

    http://www.decorativeevents.com.au/?p=4777-Mirror---Ornate-Cheval---Antique-White

Ballarddesigns.com has benches for the foot of a bed. You might consider one of them.

I hate to mention this since you've already hung the frames, but I think a group of 3 would work better. I think since your furniture is light, frames to match might look better. The black see too dark to me.

Your room is coming together nicely and looks great. I can't figure out where that wall is with the frame on the floor. It looks like you have a TV armoire or tall chest across from the bed. Is there room for a pretty bedroom chair anywhere?

Thanks Chick. Here is a pic that might help show where that wall is- this is the big wall where Im thinking about leaning a Huge- tall/fat mirror on.

Also Im probably going to change the mirror over the dresser to some other kind of mirror.

I really like the contrast of the black- seems more modern updated....also i have black in the rods and going to bring out some more black. I also want to bring out darker brown wood tones in maybe bench feet or ottoman? not sure how or where...

2 or 3 pics ?? hmmm I want it to be serene-- three might jump out too much?? I was thinking of trying to find cool fabric to put inside the frame- not sure how that will work....

I would love to see a collection of cream and cream/blue plates over the bed, instead of the black frames. It would be a much more interesting and softer solution.

Use the black frames side by side on the wall to the right of the bed.

I would move the dresser to the wall that is by the bathroom, and find a wonderful pair of upholstered comfy chairs in blue, to put where the dresser is now, along with a side table and lamp between them.

Ask for opinions and sometimes you might not like what you hear - hahaha

I really love the black frames over the bed- Im not into "modern iron work" sorry- my room is french country and Im throwing in a bit of transitional with the black....

Les- interesting thought about the dresser- but b/c it leads into the bathroom- that wall might feel too cramped going to the bathroom- id probably stub my toe in the middle of the night hahaha

I'm in agreement with Les, after many long looks at the space in this room. You could easily accommodate two small chairs and a table and really turn this room into a wonderful retreat.

I feel that the middle of the room could use something - chaise? ottoman rather than 2 chairs? hmmm

Love the idea of the plates, as well as a couple of chairs. You also have room for something at the end of you bed if desired. Just a thought, I can't tell exactly what the finish of your hardware is on your furniture, but you could easily bring in black or very dark brown touches by spray painting your hardware. That would be a quick and easy fix and update it nicely. I love lots of white in a bedroom - so soothing, and I love the texture in your bamboo shades. Very nice work!

Looking good! I like the idea of some chairs, maybe 2 of them at the foot of the bed, angled towards each other with a small table between them. Almost would act as a sitting area for TV viewing.

And I agree about the frames over the bed, 3 would be better since your bed is large.

Ok I will consider 3- though in person the 2 do look nice- Im going fabric shopping soon to put fabric inside of the frames.

I got these new lamps today !!

Anyone have pictures of what they think the chairs/seating area should look like?

    Hi Suzie,

What a wonderfully-sized bedroom you have. I was going to agree with three pictures over the bed until I read Les's suggestions. The cream & blue would be colors already in your room & wouldn't "pop" at you the way the black frames would.

Amazon has a modern slipper chair with a black frame which would repeat more black for you. The chairs don't seem deeper than the chest, so you would be able to navigate around a pair about the same as you do now with the chest.

As suggested earlier, you could consider a bench at the end of the bed - maybe with a rush seat. Or if you need storage, a low chest such as this one, also at Amazon.

You've come a long ways quickly. The room is looking great. I like the black frames but I do think the scale is off for such a large bed. I think 3 would make the difference.

I like the idea of a couple slipper chairs wherever you could put them. Check out target for slipper chairs. Lots of colors and patterns. If you don't need the mirror over the dresser consider doing a piece of art instead. That would help modernize the space.

Bedding drapes and furniture look like they were meant for each other. Great work!

I was just over on Houzz, looking at bedrooms, trying to make some decisions for my own space, and I found this photo. No, it's not a white bed, but the layout just reminded me of your room, so I had to post. Notice the 3 frames over the bed? The chairs at the foot?

Bee- Thanks so much!! Great pic.

In all honesty I just like the 2- in person it looks better than in the pic-- Also I got a bigger matching frame for another wall...with this cool chain and hook- but not hanging it yet b/c I want to get a mirror first.

I also found a great hurricane lamp shade with a beautiful blue candle today!

    Thanks!

The new lamps are perfect! Aren't you lucky to have such a nice, open space to work with...and I LOVE the warm wall color, too!!

What a difference a few small changes can make! Love the new drapes framing the bed. My suggestion was going to be the same as Beekeeperswife's pic ~ two comfy club chairs at the foot of the bed. There seems to be enough room and would be a perfect spot for watching tv.

    A few great finds today!!!

I took a pillow sham and cut it and put it into the frames!!!

What else should I put on the big dresser? maybe some decorator books??
Still looking for a cool mirror to hang over it and get rid of the old mirror.

Im leaning towards - that big blank wall- I got another big frame-- want to put a chair and small table under it - then a big floor mirror next to it for getting dressed... then a chaise/loveseat at the end of the bed-- still looking!! So happy with my small changes
