I add soya sauce and red chili peppers to Ginger's #1..even ginger..garlic etc..

No specific recipe, as this is something I just make.

Saute a couple of cloves garlic, mashed, in sesame oil along with some finely chopped red onion and a sprinkle of hot pepper powder (for this I prefer powder made from baccatum peppers because of its citrusy flavor). Add blanched & refreshed green beans, and saute until tender-crisp. Add about a tablespoon of tamari and a good handful of toasted sesame seeds. Toss to coat the beans with sesame seeds and serve hot.

I make my own version of these.

You need:

-a bit of oil (I use olive oil because I am a rebel)
-hot cooked green beans, a little underdone (two cups for just me), use "yardlong" beans if you can
-minced garlic (to taste, I use about two cloves)
-grated ginger (to taste, I use a lot less than the garlic, maybe about an inch long piece, peeled and grated)
-1 to 2 tbsp oyster flavoured sauce
-a few drops of sesame oil
-sesame seeds, toasted
-1 tbsp chinese cooking wine

I precook my beans in the microwave.

Heat the oil in a saute pan, and add the garlic and ginger. Stir fry until fragrant, careful not to burn the garlic. Add the beans and toss until coated. Add the cooking wine and let it cook off a bit. Add the oyster flavoured sauce and the sesame oil, and toss well. I like to get the sauce really bubbling so it glazes the beans well here.

Remove to a plate, and top with toasted sesame seeds. I don't always use the seeds because I don't always have them. You can add hot pepper flakes if you like, I don't do that.

I make a version of Dances - but I use jarred Black Bean garlic sauce. Yes, its a short cut, but I gotta pick what I spend my time on in the kitchen until my knees give out.
