LOOKING for: I am looking for some dip and munchie recipes

We have a tailgate party tomorrow night before our first home high school football game. Since it is the first year DH hasn't coached we get to go YEAH:) The information says to bring munchies to share and a grill is available to use if you want:) I decided on a couple of munchies but would like some T&T recipes

Thought about

crock pot pizza dip

cucumber dip

and tortilla roll ups

This is a pretty much meat and potato type crowd, and not into fancy stuff, but I want to make some special(re: show off) foods:)

I have the basics for the dips and roll ups, but was looking for recipes, also thought about doing something with cherry tomatoes, but couldn't come up with anything. We have tons and except for eating out of hand can't think of anything. The good thing is anything left over will be refrigerated and we have a potluck dinner for the family reunion on Sunday:)

You can skip the watercress in this. Plus they're easy to make ahead:

    PESTO-STUFFED CHERRY TOMATOES (serves 6-8)
2 cups (1 pint) cherry tomatoes
3 oz pkg cream cheese, softened
    2 TBL lemon juice
    1/4 cup grated Parmesan
1/4 cup finely chopped pine nuts or sunflower seeds (almonds work also)
3/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
    1/4 cup finely chopped watercress
    1 1/2 tsp dried basil
    2 cloves garlic, crushed

Cut tops off cherry tomatoes. Scoop out pulp. Drain tomatoes upside down on paper towels while making the filling. Beat the cream cheese w/the lemon juice in a medium bowl until smooth. Stir in remaining ingredients. Fill tomatoes w/cheese mixture & chill.~~From Appetizers

CHEESE STRAWS (makes about 5 dozen)
    1 scan cup flour
    1/2 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp salt
    Dash of cayenne
    1 cup grated sharp Cheddar
    5 1/3 TBL butter
    2-3 tsp water

Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, cayenne & cheese. Add the butter & rub in until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Sprinkle in enough water to make a stiff dough. Roll out about 1/8" thick & cut in 3x1/4" strips. Bake on a cookie sheet in a preheated 400° oven for 10 minutes or until slightly brown.~~Company's Coming

For this you can vary the kinds of chips:
NUTS & BOLTS (serves 12 or more)
    2 small boxes Cheez-its
3 cans mixed nuts (3-4 cups)
    8 oz shelled pecans
1 qt popcorn (best freshly popped)
    2 pkg sesame chips
    2 cans coconut chips
    1 small box pretzel sticks
    2 sticks margarine
1/2 tsp garlic salt or 1 clove garlic, crushed
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp curry powder
    Dash of Tabasco
    1 TBL Worcestershire sauce

Preheat oven to 250°. Mix the Cheez-its, nuts, popcorn, chips & pretzel sticks in a large roasting pan. Melt the margarine in a small pan & stir in the seasonings. Sprinkle over the mixture in the roasting pan. Bake 1 hour, stirring 2-3 times. Cool on absorbent paper & store in cans or jars.~~Cincinnati Celebrates

    HAM CHEESE BALL (serves 12-15)
Two 8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened
    1 cup ground smoked ham
    1 TBL grated onion
    2 tsp dried parsley flakes
    1/2 tsp seasoned pepper
    1/2 cup finely chopped pecans

Combine first 5 ingredients in a medium mixing bowl. Cover & chill 30-60 minutes. Shape mixture into a large ball & coat w/chopped nuts. Wrap w/plastic wrap & refrigerate. Serve w/assorted crackers.~~Food for Thought

Oh, and deviled eggs go over well with nearly everyone.

    This is excellent!!

Serve with Frito scoops, your favorite crackers, etc.
Just be sure to have a spoon or fork to put on chips, crackers!

    Buffalo Chicken Dip
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 2 lbs)
    1 12oz. bottle Frank's Hot Sauce
    2 8oz pkgs. cream cheese
1 16oz. bottle blue cheese salad dressing(or Ranch if you prefer)
8 oz shredded sharp cheddar, Mont. Jack or a combo
Boil chicken until cooked through, shred with 2 forks.
Preheat oven to 350. In a 13x9, combine chicken with hot sauce and spread evenly.
In a large saucepan over med. heat, combine the cream cheese and dressing, stirring until smooth and hot. Pour evenly over chicken. Bake uncovered for 20 min., then sprinkly with shredded cheese and bake uncovered for another 10 min. Let stand 10 min. before serving.

*****Have made this many times, and found it works better, for me, by mixing everything together, including the cheese, then bake for 20-30 minutes until good and hot. Then let it stand for 10 minutes or EVEN LONGER to serve.

Sorry this is late but you could make it next time.

    PARTY SHRIMP SPREAD

2 (8 oz.) pkg. softened cream cheese
    1 cup cocktail sauce
1 ½ cup cooked baby shrimp
    1/3 cup chopped green onions
    1/3 cup chopped green pepper
    1/3 cup sliced ripe olives
1/3 cup diced fresh tomatoes, drained
1/ 2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

On a pizza pan or large, flat round tray, spread the cream cheese evenly. Spread the cocktail sauce on top. Sprinkle the shrimp, green onions, green pepper, olives and tomatoes onto the cocktail sauce. Distribute the Parmesan cheese evenly over all the other ingredients so it looks like a pizza. Cover and chill until serving time. Serve as a spread with crackers.

You say this is a meat and potatoes crowd....and you say there will be a grill available....so that suggests to me "Stuff on a stick".
Get some of those shorter bamboo skewers and thread "stuff" on them. those precooked shrimp, strips of chicken breast threaded in a zigzag way....and strips of sirloin threaded the same way, chunks of ham.....and alternate the meats with things like cherry tomatoes, pineapple chunks ( that's good for the ham) pieces of onion, green pepper, mushrooms and stick them into a plastic comtainer and dump on some bottled terayaki sauce.
Place on the grill and cook. Each of those things should cook in about 7 or 8 minutes, less for the shrimp, unless you have cut the beef and chicken too big.
