Flooring question

I just ordered these cabinets from Lowes. I am reall stumped with what floor to put in my kitchen. I'd like a wood look laminate (or real hardwood) but I don't know if I should go darker or lighter

I would suggest a White Oak floor in solid 3/4" thickness. That will allow you to refinish your floor as needed and change stain colors with current styles. There are several dark stains from Minwax that look amazing. Let us know if you have any questions or would like to plan a floor. Go dark dark...you can never go wrong with that...plus, it would look great if you eventually painted white/cream

what kind of wood/laminate would you go with? the wood has such a grain to it I don't know what to use that won't clash. thanks!

I would go hand scraped dark with little or no grain visibility...with white cabinets, new hardware and light walls...you have a super clean and timeless look...check this out

To pmorganii, I believe the cabinets would have been ordered in white if the poster had wanted white cabinets. To paint brand new cabinets, with such a rich grain, would be criminal. Before you decide light or dark flooring, consider the rest of the flooring in your home, what color your countertop/backsplash will be, and the natural light in the kitchen.

Depending on connecting floors and other materials/colors in kitchen (as response above from sthomp) in your home, you could consider a darker laminate/wood
