When we planted our citrus, we THOUGHT we had a lime tree in the bunch. We THOUGHT that because limes are my all time really big time favorite citrus. Well, the little suckers are finally ripened. I thought they were rotten. They all turned yellow and had thinner skins, and well, they were smaller than the limes I had HOPED to suck down in drinks and food, and for me, that wonderful fresh lime snuckering smuckering right off the tree.

So, I had the landscape company come back out here and check out what I THOUGHT was my lime tree and tell me what the scoop was on the poor thing. (I must have 400 of the little yellow suckers on that tree!)

Well, the guy said, "That isn't a lime tree, it is a limquat!"

What the heck IS a limequat? And, what do I do with them?

Anyone have some recipes? I picked on and tasted it.. it tasted like a very nice lemon to me. Almost a sweetness to it, but nice and tart and puckery. The skin is thinner and very nice too.

(They are planting a lime tree for me next Thursday, hopefully I will get some limes by next year.. oh, I am sooo disappointed!)
