Yes, I can vouch that this really works and is good. It is a good way to prepare your eggs and chopped up veggies, meat and cheese the night before and throw it all in the bag. The next morning place in the micowave and viola - you have breakfast!

what a really interesting concept! and you say it actually works? i have to say it sounds like sort of a "fun" idea but for those who like to go camping and cook outdoors, wouldn't this be great for them? i'd much rather clean a sauce pan than a frying pan any day!

It's good for overnights guests too. You can individualize each person's omelete. I cook my onions, peppers and meats the night before and put them in the bag with the cheese and eggs, then toss in the microwave the next morning.

Last nite, when bagging my eggwhites, I added some chopped onion, bacon bits, shredded cheese and a sprinkle of Taco seasoning.

Must say, it was quite tasty.

Oh my gosh Glenda, I didn't intend to say microwave! I boil mine in the bag! I'm glad yours, farmhouse and Cindy's turned out good. I like the taco seasoning idea. I tried a little Fox Point seasoning and it was good too.

Really interesting. I am going to let my nephews, who are into cooking, make their own omelet bag before they go to bed. I can see letting them be creative. Then let them cook in the AM.

    They will think it's fun.

Because kitchen time for me is so difficult with the baby and my MIL under my feet or in my way, or both of them getting into things trying to "help" me, I really need all the REAL help I can get. So, convenience is the optiminal choice for me, as well as easy clean-ups.

At first I thought this might make more mess than it was worth, but I tried it this morning for my husband and my breakfast, and it WORKED! I used four eggs.. three whites and one yolk and it was great! I was surprised at how good it was! The clean-up was a snap and I love that!

My son wants to know why you didn't post this until AFTER he and his lady returned from a gruelling camping trip interstate. They rode their motorcycle from Brisbane to the bottom of Victoria (a lo-o-o-o-ng way - they took 4 days to get there!) taking with them only the most basic of basic essentials (2 people, a tent, sleeping bags, clothes, towels, cooking equipment etc - all on a motorbike!), and when they arrived they found that campsites were so close together, there was no room for campfires! (The things people will do to see their favourite sporting event live!Ah well, you're only young once.)They had a cigarette-packet-candle stove they could boil things on, so this omelette in a bag idea would have been very, very useful!

Never mind, they've stored the idea in their memory banks for the next camping trip!

I agree, this works very well, as demonstrated by 23 girls age 12 and under in Ashley's girl scout troop. I hadn't thought of it lately....

Tip: I found that spraying the inside of the bag, the omelet rolls out easier.
