It's like twice-baked toast but thicker. You've probably seen it in the cookie aisle, Marilyn.

Those are the "cookies" we used to give our kiddos when they were teething.

Zwieback is a toast...like a rusk but different....sweeter! ( I know! What's a rusk! LOL!)
I loved them as a kid dipped into chocolate milk.....and they do make a great cheese cake crust.
If you can't find zwieback....I would use melba toast made into crumbs.

Thanks Ginger. And you even responded in less than 2 hours from my posting, so that I still had time to make the cheesecake for a newyears eve party, except that just after I posted our power went out for a few hours, taking out both my computer and my oven!!! What a millenium we live in.

Glad that's the one. The power thing happens here all the time (meanwhile they are charging us 29 cents a KWH for terrible service) but thankfully we now have a massive generator on property that turns on within 5 seconds.
