Would it be possible to stitch around the outer edge and the inner white circle, then just perhaps tie or machine tack at the points of the blue?

For the outside dark, I would stitch 1/4" from the red all the way around, pivoting at the point and continue (echoing) 1/4" away on each line of stitching. I would maintain the equidistant spacing onto the batting as if there was fabric in order to keep the spacing and angle correct within the dark.
For the center medallion, I would stitch straight lines intersecting in the center. I would use the points on the designs as my guide - stitching thru the center.
The Craftsy Class on Walking Foot Quilting is well worth it - I looked at your piece and knew immediately how I would do it after the lessons I learned.

Yes - I would extend the stitching to the thin outer ring. I would also stitch thru the smaller pedals(?) if you can get a straight line thru them -- all lines crossing in the exact center white space.

Multiple lines -- which is why I would keep stitching off the fabric into the batting to keep the lines and points straight & continuous. After you stitch all the 1/4" spaces, you can go back & stitch in between (1/8") in one or more of the spaces to add interest & variation.
