I've run into a snag for the November Lotto block. I failed to read the directions closely enough and now realize it only makes a 10" block. And the pattern looks a bit hard to work with. Has anyone made it yet? I don't want to change it if someone has already done it. But if no one has, then I've found an alternate that could be fun - and much easier!

This one is a TRIPLE Irish Chain and it makes a huge 22" block; just a few blocks would make a nice, large quilt. There are a lot of squares but they are all 2.5" x 2.5". The colors remain the same as the original proposal: every thing from black to gray to blue, with a light gray background.

This is what the finished block looks like:

We could use that pattern but you don't need to make it scrappy. I would recommend the darkest color you have as the center pieces (shown as yellow in the picture), then lighter gray or blue fabrics for the next two 'chains', then a very light gray for the background.

So, what do you think? Stick with the original 10" pattern at Jinny Beyer or go with this larger pattern?
