California King Bedding???

We have a California King size bed and oh my, I am having a terrible time finding a comforter set to fit it. Does anyone know where I can find these in the internet or at a change stores?...looked at all the local stores and the just don't carry that size. THANKS

Where do you live? Here in California, it's practically all that is on the shelves. Very hard to find regular king bedding.

If you can't find it locally, you will find it online probably everywhere.

BTW, the comforter and the shams are the same size. It's only the bedskirt and the sheets that are a different size.

Only bedskirts and fitted sheets are different in size. Regular king is used otherwise, just like snookums said.

Ditto on the previous two: only the bedskirt and fitted sheet are different.

Good sources for CA King sheets -- The Company Store, also Tuesday Morning usually has them. Also The Company Store sells oversized comforters which can be handy for a CA King so you get a few more inches to play with.

I've had good luck finding California King sheets at Overstock.com.

California King is also called Western King.

We live in Kansas and would have no problem finding a regular size...maybe I'll have to make a trip west..LOL

Yes, I do know that the king and cal. king are the same size for the comforter, but I need the bed skirt...and that is where I am having problems. I had even thought of getting one that has a inverted pleat in the front...taking the pleat out...slitting the part that goes on the mattress, inserting about a 5" strip to make it wider (wouldn't show since it would be covered up) and sewing it back up. Do you think this would work?

I have looked on Overstock and couldn't find anything that was to my taste. I should have gotten one several months ago that I liked there, but now it is sold out. I made my last one, but just am not able to do that again.

Thanks for your help...and keep them coming...maybe someone will have another idea.

Try JCPenney, Linens and things, Bed Bath and Beyond, Target, Walmart, Macy's, etc. basically any store that sell stuff in CA will have it available to buy, just need to order it most likely.

Bought my Cal King sheets at Tuesday Morning; maybe check there too for skirts? Had no luck at WalMart for Cal King sizes.

I have tried several Tuesday Morning stores, but I need the entire set....I do have the sheets...no problem finding them. Penney's usually have one style in a catalog, but they are usually "too formal" for what I am wanting. I have also tired BB&B, Target, Walmart, Dillard's...but will keep searching.

I did something similiar as to what you were thinking about doing. I took a king, cut it in half lengthwise, took another (think it was a double) and took the middle of out it and sewed it to the two pieces of king. I have the same problem as you except we have two California twin Temperpedic mattresses that are put together. Even the comforters aren't really big enough but King bedspreads are too wide. King sheets aren't wide enough either. Can't figure out why if the bedspreads are too wide. I haven't beena ble to find anyplace that sells the sheet sets or comforters for the Temperpedic.

Phoggie, did you look at BB&B online? They carry Cal King.
