If you close up that window - it could be a great place for a good looking book case and creating a reading nook - you just need more furniture - a nice wicker set could look lovely.

If you are using that guest bedroom as a guest bedroom it's a good idea to close off that window. What do you want to use this room for? A craft room? Mud room? Sitting room? Knowing this will help us better suggest furniture and such for you

Yeah, I've decided the window must go. Having a window between rooms of the home seems very strange to me. I want to use this room as a sitting room/sun room. It's almost unusable in the winter because the windows make it so cold. Eventually, I hope to replace them, but in the meantime, I need to make it a welcoming entrance-way to my home.

It has windows on three sides, so it gets light pretty much all day! Thanks for the suggestions!

I'm not sure I understand the part about closing up the guest bedroom window. Is that the only window in the room? If so, be aware that it will not longer be considered a bedroom since it won't have emergency egress. Something to consider should you ever be interested in selling.

The window you see on the left of the picture is a window that goes into the guest bedroom. It is not the only window in the guest room. There is another external window.

What is your view out those windows? If it's nice, you want to face your furniture toward the windows to take advantage of it. We enclosed our screen room with glass several years ago, but we have a heat pump in ours. We live in FL so we most often have AC running out there, and if it's cold enough, we turn on the heat. We eat dinner out there, watch tv, sit around with friends, whatever...It's our favorite room. We added a fake wall over the back of the house so it would look more like a real room. We also made pocket doors to save space. I have a red leather couch with chaise, round glass table with 4 stools, large screen tv, and 2 wicker chairs. I think our room is 12 x 24 and it holds all that easily. If you get the right furniture in there at the right proportion, you can use it for multiple purposes and it will be lovely.
