Thanksgiving plans

What's everyones plans for the big day tomorrow? We made pies today, two apple and two pumpkin. The pumpkins we started from scratch this morning cutting them up and cooking down. It took the three of us hours to make these four pies.

My oldest daughter took over Thanksgiving a few years ago and one of my other daughters goes there to spend the night and help cook in the morning. This year the other daughter wants to go and learn to cook a turkey.

I'll go pick up a granddaughter in the morning to go with us as my second down has to work :-( My father who is here visiting to deer hunt will come and my son that just moved out of our home is coming. So I'll get to see most everyone.

It will be happy day for me to have my family together. It's too bad Kim has to work.

After the meal we'll sit around and look at all the black Friday ads and plan our attack in the morning. I told Shannon today one stop we are making is Joann's I want to get a bolt of that black country classic for 14.99 and pick up an ott light for a friend that lives an hour away and won't get to up here for the sale.

Best wishes to you and your family. Our day will be quiet and relaxing as we have no family coming. That will not be the case at Christmas. I normally cook for crowds. Tomorrow We eat out and I make dishes to feed us the rest of the day as we watch football and I will sew. It's relaxing and I already have my shopping plans for Friday. Joann's sale has sewing machine needles half off and a few other treats to stock up on.

I have been preparing for the last two days.
I even peel my potato's the day before. I'm going to try
mashing them early and putting them in a crock pot so
that will be one last minute thing I won't have to do.
I may even have time to sew in the morning. DD brought
some fabric today and wants some curtains by the time
she leaves tomorrow! LOL
May we all count and share our blessings and remember
where they come from. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Vicky, today we spent with my DH's family. Sat. we will be together with my family. I'm from a family of six all married with children, and some with grandchildren. We used to spend holidays trying to get to both sides of the family, and we ended up missing half the people. We solved the problem by choosing to all spend the holiday with our spouses families and then getting together with our families a day or two later. No rushing, and everyone is happy. This is a hard year for my family as we lost our mother the end of December, 2006. This might sound strange, but I felt her there with me as I made her pecan pie, and a 12 egg noodle dough...
