MLV going up in basement ceiling - install ?

Hello,

We are winding down on a whole house reno - last part is finishing 1/2 basement.

It is done for now and future uses

Now mulit functional

-playroom (4 children 13,10,9,3)

- desk/hw area

- TV -wired for future home theatre 14g in wall wire

in event of water

PT sil plates - w/sheet rock cut 2" off floor

moisture proof wall board prepped w/Gardz then 123 zinser

To minimize noise going up and down

Ceiling has Roxul in btwn joist

then MLV - 1/8" attached to joist

-KEnsa ceiling grid direct to joist (which will give ceiling height just around 7')

Yes, I've spent the $ on the soundproofing

We are having a heck of a time with the MLV install - First piece is up running aprox 22' length - staples naturally did not work so the guys have screws (maybe 1 1/2" and a washer type metal plate (?used in roofing not sure) to apply.

This stuff is so heavy & difficult to apply overhead - We considered cutting it to 4'x8' sections but still to get things to sit right you may actually have more moving around with smaller pieces

Any tried & true application help would be appreciated!

Thanks - oh, got say this we have a utility side & I found a 1 1/2" exterior door (2 panel primed) fire rated for $20 at the local lumber yd

Thanks

Eileen
