The garage door is flush with the house exterior. How was this achieved?

Sorry I just got an ipad and apparently now I can see that there are questions.
The flush door was quite an undertaking. It is actually a regular door but set back exactly the thickness of the trespa and strapping under neath. You just need a very detailed cross section of the over head door and work backwards. Make sure its a door that can carry the load of the facing.

Love the look! The aligned boards...lovely detail!

Kate, how does the head detail look? Does the torsion tube still get mounted on the inside?

Oh, Kate, more questions. Is the door in sections? Does it roll up or flip up? If it rolls up how does the exterior side of the door not catch the bottom of the wall finish? Thanks.

Like the pro above stated, it's all about planning. Builder/architect/designer/homeowner plans and coordinates the detail. It is a wonderful detail that takes planning, care and extra money. In my mind it is worth every penny.
