So after cutting the drapery fabric for the only window in my living room, I realize that I have enough left over to make valances for the two windows in the adjoining den. All my idea sources show cute little ruffled things, which not only look out of style, but also wouldn't work with this heavy fabric. Would some kind of tailored valance with solid color curtains below, or maybe just mini blinds, work? The fabric is an off-white tapestry type, with a woven in curly viney pattern in green, yellow and red. After experimenting with various trims, buttons, etc, I decided to leave the LR drape unadorned except for some interesting pleating at the top. I'd love to hear your ideas and see pictures if you have something that works. Thanks!
