fenny61, in addition to reading this article, go check out your local granite & marble supplier. Look around, & ask them this question. Then, ask for a marble sample for you to take home, so that you can perform your own tests on it with coffee, etc. Leave a coffee or lemon juice stain on the sample overnight so that you can see the results with your own eyes. This will really put it into perspective for you. However, be sure to ask if the sample is sealed or not! The sealing will make a difference in the marble's absoption rate.
