how to light vanity

I am replacing my full wall mirror with two silver framed ones. The countertop will be soapstone with chrome Victorian style faucets. There are two can lights above the vanity and I took out a strip of globe lights (Hollywood make up style) from above the mirror. The can lights are not enough, they just cast shadows on my face.

I had planned on putting three sconces, between and on either side of the mirrors, but my contractor pointed out that there is no room on one side of the vanity because of a side wall So now my choices are
1. just put one sconce in the middle ( implications for make-up, shaving?)
2. put two sconces, on either side of one mirror only
3. put a fixture ABOVE each mirror - almost below the can lights.(sounds silly)
4 put the third light on the side wall, partially in front of one of the mirrors?
Any better ideas? The bathroom is real traditional with beadboard etc, Thank for your help.
Sorry no pictures, it's just a topless vanity and insulation hanging down from the ceiling right now.
