On rare occasions I've found patterned fabric wide enough for twin sheets- never queen or king.

Maybe you could applique some characters on the pillow cases & top sheets of plain ones...just a thought.

I think a twin mattress is only 39" wide,isn't it?If so any adding on you would maybe need to do could be added on at the sides.Therefore no seam down the middle.Add on your side pieces to make it wide enough,then depending on the thickness of the mattress,4 to 6 " cut that amount out of each corner,then seam the corners together.Add elastic at the edges,and you're done.I'll see if i can find directions with pictures on the net.Have to go pick up GS at school first.Will get back to you later.

I know that some fabrics only come in certain sizes, but, if you check with supply companies, fabric can be ordered at widths wide enough for sheets. I don't know much about the colors. I would try drapery shops, they can order this stuff. Another idea is use one width in the center, and take another width and split it, using one piece of it on each side. You may need to get extra yardage, to match patterns, on the split sides. That way your pattern is centered, and you get the width also.
