I am not sure about where the pleats are going, on the 2 corners, is there one in the middle of the foot part? that may be the 9 " ? I have a book that tells about an open corner or a closed inverted corner, are there bed posts at the foot?

There is a foot board that will be in front of the skirt so the center piece won't really show. There are two corners only. I think they are considered inverted pleats. I am going to cut it according to the directions and pray it turns out okay.

I live in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. I have been trying to find directions for making a box pleat bedspread and the way to calculate the needed mateial for it. I want to make the top in a floral pattern and the sides panels in a complemetary non-floral fabric. None of the professional sewers here know what I am trying to do. They only know about making throw-over bedspreads.

One part of your questions unanswered was about lining. I plan to line the top but not the side panels because my fabric is rather heavy and will hang without needing the weight a lining would yield. It will also cut costs some.

Can you send me the instructions you have for making the bedspread and how to calculate the fabric needed?

Use the formula to calculate the box pleats from the top of the mattress, rather than the top of the box spring, then attach them to the mattress.
