I purchased a new skirt which matches a jacket that I have. It is way too long (I am very short), but because it has flared inserts at the bottom and other inserted pieces on the front of the skirt, it will be necessary for me to rip off the waistband and shorten it from the top. I probably shouldn't have purhased it, but haven't you done anything like this before just to get something you had a taste for? I am going to struggle through this, but if you have any hints, I am surely open for them, and I thank you in advance.I am wondering if I should put darts in the top or just insert an elastic waistband? I will have to do a lot of adjusting in the waist. - Barb
