My Grandmother's Raymond

Since budster was saying she's interested in our older ladies : ) I thought you guys might like to see the sewing machine passed down by my grandmother. It's an 1878 Raymond. I found some things inside the drawers, and I'll copy photos of those, too.

Wow, it looks like it's in great condition! What a wonderful heirloom.

As to the "guessing" - my Juki machine has a screwdriver that looks exactly like that.

Hi Donna, It is in pretty good shape. Still sews (although I haven't tried it). I should have put a ruler by that 'object' - it's probably about 8" long. It says that it measures inseam (?). Not really sure how it works, though.

I was going to ask if you sewed on it, but you already answered that... looks awesome! I've always want to play with a treadle machine. How special that you have it after all these years. I didn't even know anyone other than Singer made treadles!
