Ben Moore and Sherwin Williams seem to be the top contenders here on Houzz.

I like Benjamin Moore I think it's good paint but I especially like the help I've gotten at their store.

We've recently had a surprisingly good experience with the Behr Premium Plus Ultra paint-and-primer in one. It was easy to apply and the finish looks great in our basement bathroom.

Thanks all. SweetDreen I like what you say, we could use some advice. The fellow who owned this house originally was a professional house painter, so what was here was very good.

This will show you how good - we've owned this house for 4 years and it was ONLY TODAY that we realized the "wall paper" in our bedroom was actually a decorative painting treatment. We've been in the room every day and we are thinking it is wall paper and what are we going to do now. And then I said....wait a minute, there aren't any seams, this is paint!

Big shoes to fill, it's just a little intimidating.

He used top quality paint, of course. I've used some of the really old paint for touch ups and even though it was a little funky it went on and covered the spots real well. But of course I never bothered to notice what brand that was and all our spare paints got wrecked in the storm too.

I think I will go with Behr for the garage, I'm motivated to get that done next weekend (at least the one wall) since my new washer and dryer are going in very soon.

We typically use Pittsburg paints Manor Hall products. Sherwin William Duration is good exterior latex paint for painting over existing paint which can't all be scraped off.

One of the major reason we use Pittsburg paints is their local store is great to work with. We get a decent price break on the products, good service and referral business from the management. Sometimes you can get good advice from a big box store, but I like the technical help and service from the true paint store. We also buy Sherwin Williams, but I don't care for their local store personnel. The local Benjamin Moore dealer is good, but their products are rather expensive and I'm not certain that their product is necessary for much of our work.

I find Behr paint, especially their ceiling paint, to be too thick to work with easily...more like a roller-applied colored glue.
