beds; please vote

Ok, I will finally pick a bed for the master bedroom from the ones below. Which one do you like the best and why?

I like the uniqueness for this bed and I would only do the headboard with a bench at the foot of the bed.

I would only do the headboard with the bed with the bench at the foot. But, I like them all.

What are your thoughts? This is the month to purchase a bed. Thanks!

Wow! all are stunning. My eye was drawn to the second one first because I thought it looked comfortable to lean against while reading. I always read before turning in. I like the bench at the foot. It makes it look complete. Regarding the first one, it looks pretty and a little heavier than the other 2, if that is your liking. My favorite is the 3rd and I am not sure why, it's just pleasing to my eye, maybe the openness. To me all 3 look rich and lovely.

They're all unique looking, so I don't think you can go wrong here, but since we're voting -- I LOVE the second one; it looks comfy to lean against, it has a timeless BC sort of style, it can be breezy cool in the summer and warm looking in the winter. Love the cane. You can do anything with that style; The simple, elegant lines can be masculine enough to allow the decor to go in any direction without becoming too much. And if I were buying it, I would know that I would love it ten years from now and could adapt it to any of my other styles, so it would be a good investment for me.

Not sure what your fav styles are?

I don't like #1. I do like 2 and 3. #2 for the reasons the others have stated. Looks comfortable and has a unique quality to it. #3 is my favorite.

However, these are only pictures. I don't know the cost of them and if you are a budget shopper I'd choose #2. The reason I say this is that metal can look very nice or it can look cheap. Only you can tell the quality of the bed. I've never seen anything like bed #3, can you share where it's from?

    # 3 is way nice!

I'd get number two and the reason being that your feet never hit the end of the bed, it's easier to make and it's GORGEOUS!! I think a bench would look stunning against it. Oh another reason, you can let a duvet hang over the edge.

#2 or #3--depending on whether you want a footboard.

    I vote #2 or #3.

Thanks for the feedback! The husband has also looked at the beds and he is in agreement with you all. He likes #2 and #3 the best so we have narrowed it down to those two. Thanks again!

Now, I just need to decide the final choice....does anyone have a bed that looks like either?

    Thanks again!

My vote is #2 or #3. You just need to decide if you want a footboard or not. I feel that the footboard completes the look of the bed, but it is much easier to make a bed without a footboard. Good Luck! Happy Fourth of July!

I might decide between #2 or #3 based on the length of the sleepers, Yayagal brings a good point, will the sleeper mind the footboard or not? I would also focus on what bed linens I love and how they work and look with or without the footboard. The bench works with or without the footboard, maybe more casual with out and more formal and finished with the footboard.
Personally, I would love to have #3. The headboard looks comfortable to pillow for reading in bed. The footboard is beautiful with or without a bench, giving more arangement options. If I used long flowing bedding, I would not want a footboard, but with my silk comforts, a footboard also keeps them on the bed and easy to reach.
Do you love the Poofy or flowing look, tailor'd or quilt look, downe comfort or neat bedspread look. What style and atmosphere do you hope to create for this room? Hope this helps you pick which you will most love to live with.

#2 for sure- I like the headboard and the legs at the foot of the bed.

I don't care for #1, but we can't really see the detailing you may be drawn too -- and made up it would probably be very pretty. I love #2. Not sure why I like it more than with the footboard, maybe because it just looks more serene and comfortable open.

As there are different feels here, think about how your other furnishings would blend, and the style of bedding you love, too (if you're settled on anything there).

My least favorite goes against the popular here. I don't like the caning look or the weird wave/step thing going on in #2.
Hard to decided between 1 and 3 but probably 3. I think the spaces between the outside pieces and main board will frame and highlight a nice pretty wall color dramatically, the leg detail is nice and the raised panel is classic. 1 is nice two but I can't decide wheter I really like the overlapping shutter look in the interior of the main board or not. Love the rest of it.

#2 and # appear to be the same bed, only with #3 it's shown with a footboard. Both are beautiful, and styled in a manner that shouldn't ever looked dated. A bench would look great at the foot of either one.

Could you share with us where this bed is from? I've been looking for months for a replacement for our "dated" 35 year old mahogany bed, and this is one of the first I've seen that I REALLY love.......

Yes, two and three are the same bed from Ethan Allen....

    Thanks again for the feedback!

Ok, mix-up here. I knew the second and third were the same so when I said #3, I meant the last pic.

Don't know if anyone else made the same mistake.

I bought my very first absolutely brand new bed only 4 years ago. Up till now, it was beds I've been given or estate sale headboards. Mine is wonderful. It was better than I hoped it would be from the photo. I saw it in a Spiegel catalog and then searched the net to find it cheaper, because they wanted $1100 for it if I remember right. Anyway, I think I paid about $800 4 years ago. It's iron and rattan and heavy as sin. But the style I love, and it's supportive for reading in bed.
Here is the best saved photo I have that shows the whole bed. The room was getting repainted, we were getting ready to tear up the carpet to do wood flooring, but at least you can see the whole bed.

Definately number two IMHO. Of course, this is from a lady that literally broke her pinkie stuffing the sheets into the footboard while making the bed. Three months of wearing a 3" rod that was surgically implanted in my pinkie was enough for me to swear off footboards!

NO 2 or 3, depends if you want the footboard or not.....I've always had one, just a personal like or dislike. It is a stunning bed.

Ouch Lynn, that's one of the reasons I like a bed without a footboard. Our's had one and I had my husband take it off. Your poor pinkie, those rods are nasty.
