We have kitchen!

Or at least we have the walls and concrete slab flooring. The perspective is a little odd since I took the picture from the raised room behind the kitchen. You can also see our (actually turned out to be quite pretty) exposed stucco chainwall.

There is just enough room to satisfy code between the peninsula and the back (window) wall run, but it couldn't be helped, really. There were sacrifices that had to be made. All in all, the space feels really lovely when you're standing in it. Full of natural light - it was cloudy when I took this - and it's position really makes it the heart of the home.

Since everyone here was so supportive of me during the complete breakdown of my renovation, I wanted to show you that we're definitely back on track.

After all is said and done, the kitchen is 9'10" x 9' 6" with a third (the one with the new replacement window) 9'10" space where we'll have the counter depth French door fridge, microwave drawer, pantry, and a wooden countertop. On the two longest walls, the cabinets will rise 10' with a rolling ladder system for access. Yes, more about looks than function, but hey.

Thanks again to everyone who helped with getting the kitchen designed for maximum function in minimum space. We are on schedule to be home mid-July.
