Need new sewing machine

Hi,Can anyone give me some suggestions on what type of new machine is a good one ? Right now I have a Singer Creative Touch 1030. I bought it in 1980! It still runs great. I love it . But I want a newer one with more stitchs and just a little embroidery. What would you suggest ? I don't want to spend too much. I was looking yesterday and saw some for $2000, way too much for me.So what do you think? Mary in Va
