I prewash everything before I make it. The shrinking is done...and now you can wash without worrying. I take the yardage to the laundry and use one of the large front loading machines, toss it in the dryer and fold.

Just a suggestion. It might be a good idea to buy a yard to test wash. Then you will know how much it will shrink and if washing changes the texture.

well, everything I've seen says "dry clean only". So you're saying that I can wash it? Or that there is something out there that can be washed?

I have used a good quality polyester cotton to line drapes that I want to wash. After the first washing it won't shrink--if it ever does.

Drapery lining of any sort is heavy and made of material that will shrink if washed. Because it is so heavy it would be very hard on a washing machine
