If you have never sewn with Stretch fabric or t-shirt material don't do it on the machine unless you can get some premade t-shirt bias binding and even then you have to pin well or baste it in so the t-shirt armhole doesn't stretch out of proportion. The best way would be to hand stitch a rolled hem on the armhole edge.
