Can you put it in a hoop?

You could try fusing it on first with fabric glue(Tacky Glue is what I use)or iron-on fusing which comes in tape or sheets.

Go around it 2 or 3 times with a not-so-tight zig-zag. Or, stitch it first with a straight stitch.....then the zig-zag will cover it up.

A stablizer on the back of your white fabric will give it more body especially if they are thin fabrics. Stablizers can be tear away or soluable. You just put them in water and they disappear.

I find this really helps to keep them from bunching. A little practice wth scraps from the fabrics you are using helps too. Try experimenting with the width and lengths of your zigzag.

Believe it or not, it is an easy thing to do. The key is practice. I took an old t-shirt and priced on it. The key also is to use a stablizer. I use the one that is called Tear Away. It is a heavy pellon type stablizer. I also use a fairly narrow zigzag width. Once you get the hang of it, you will just zip along.

In my embroidery designs, the machine sews a straight line just inside & just outside the edges & then a long zig zag stitch. Doing those steps may also help you.
