You have to put the material in an embroidery hoop, remove the foot and drop the feed dogs. Then move the hoop at just the right speed to write. It is not easy to do and even harder to perfect without a lot of practice.

I suggest you take it to someone who has a computer run machine just to do monograms and have them do it.
