Very pretty and a great way to save the handkerchief, I think. I took a quick look at your country life blog, too and I have a funny question for you. I can tell that you have a heart for preserving our land and conserving energy, etc...Have you considered going non-electric for your sewing? I use only non-electric sewing machines (for 18 years now), really just because I love them, not for any environmental reason. However, I've noticed an increasing interest in them from people who are concerned about reducing their carbon footprint. Just curious!

Many years ago I experimented using an old Singer sewing machine. It was in disrepair so I didn't get to really see how it worked. It belonged to a friend who eventually let me have it because of my love for antiques.

I never got it repaired and actually lost it in a house fire.

I wish I still had it.
